SHAH ALAM - Pasir Gudang parliament member, Hassan Abdul Karim conveyed the impression that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reputation will be affected by continued cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN) under Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi leadership.

He said Pakatan Harapan (PH) image through Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) which carried the reformation agenda was also tarnished after Zahid, who is on court trial, was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister.

"In my opinion, Barisan Nasional (BN)-Umno is from a corrupted group that breach trust and can be seen as a virus infecting the Prime Minister, PKR and PH "There is no vaccine to cure this toxic poison. The end path may be death," he said in a Facebook post on Monday.

On Sunday, Penang Deputy Chief Minister II, Dr P Ramasamy visualized Zahid as a 'burden' not only to his party, but also to PH and the unity government.

In a statement uploaded on Facebook, he emphasized that the decision made to approve the motion of exempting the presidential and deputy presidential polls through PAU 2022 may be a relief, but is seen as a thorn for Umno, PH and the government.

Hassan explained, the Tambun parliament member’s desire to create a government administration that has integrity, approved and trusted by the people cannot be realized.

"In a sense, Anwar's commitment to bring good governance in the government administration is not doubted by the people. For decades majority of the people had dreamed of Anwar becoming Prime Minister. But the reality that exist today is not that same beautiful dream. The reality is completely different.

"This is Anwar's dilemma. Refusal to cooperate with BN-Umno led by Zahid means Anwar's government will fall. Anwar loses his position. PH loses the government. Many people will celebrate," he stated.

He added that even if the Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled Zahid as innocent and then released, some people would still blame and accuse Anwar of interfering in the decision.

"However, the actual situation may be that Anwar is not guilty as he did not interfere in the court's affairs following his promise to give freedom for the court system to function. The Prime Minister defamation will continue," he explained.
