KUALA LUMPUR - The 2022 Umno general assembly (PAU) held at Dewan Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL) here continues to heat with the allegation of ‘ghost voters’ existence to prevent the post of president and the deputy president from being contested.

Recently, a viral video showed a group of individuals being briefed in a closed room.

Through the 40-second video, the group of individuals were accused as the real traitors of the party.

“It is true that ghost voters were brought in. These are the actual traitors to the democratic system of the biggest Malay political party.

“Using ghost voters dirty tricks and wild cheers to deny Umno members’ rights to take care of their president and deputy president,” he said.

Former Umno youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin also uploaded the same video on his Instagram account.

A few hours before that, Khairy also shared a video on his Tik Tok account claiming an attempt to bring in ‘ghost voters’ to approve an additional motion to decline the two highest positions in the party to be contested.

Khairy explained that the allegation was based on the ‘tag’ or marker of the representative’s position that was previously placed on Dewan Merdeka seat had been removed.
