Party discipline is important - Zambry

KUALA LUMPUR - Party discipline is the most crucial issue in any political party.

When asked to comment about the 10 MPs who signed the statutory declarations (SD) backing Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin after the 15th General Election (GE15), Zambry said disciplining party members was important and a party needs to have courage when doing so.

“Based on what Umno president Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi said during his policy speech today, he mentioned that discipline in a party is important however during these times we also need to move forward and move together,”

“Again, always return to the party, work towards strengthening the party so that we are able to move forward in a strong way ,” Zambry said during his visit to the 2022 Umno General Assembly (PAU) Media Room, today.

Zahid, during his policy speech said he has forgiven the 10 Barisan Nasional MPs who signed statutory declarations (SDs) in support of Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin

“I have said it loud and clear... I have already forgiven (them) although it is difficult for me to forget. That is the reality,” Zahid had said.

This is the third day of the Umno General Assembly, which will go on till Jan 14.
