'Mohamad came to my house after GE15' - Hamzah
TUMPAT - Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin claims Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is not telling the truth when he says DAP is better than Pas as an excuse for Umno to join the Unity Government.
Hamzah, who is also the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Secretary-General stated that the Rembau MPP had made a contradictory statement when they met before.
"A day after the 15th General Election (GE15) results, Mohamad came to my house.
"What he said was: 'Brother, I want to inform you that if Umno President wants to work with DAP, I will be the first person to oppose'. That's what he told me," he said after the PN Flood Relief Donation Ceremony for 8,000 victims in Chabang Empat, Wakaf Bharu here on Thursday.
Hamzah explained that at that time, Pas Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan witnessed the meeting and Mohamad's words.
"When Mohamad mention DAP is more sincere than Pas (yesterday), I wonder what is wrong with him, I thought it was ridiculous and untrue.
"I am friends with him and Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob, who is just like a brother to me.
"I am dumbfounded by Umno lately, they said different things before and now. I want to inform others to be careful," he said.
Yesterday, Mohamad spoke at the Umno General Assembly at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL), on Wednesday and stated that Umno would work with DAP after GE15 because the party was not two-faced and did not lie about loyalty.
Mohamad also admitted that it was difficult for Umno to cooperate with Pas because of the claim that Pas was unfaithful, insincere and even shamelessly cheated with party fragments or Umno’s 'widow'.
