We are ready to hit the reset button for Umno - Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR - Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is ready to hit the reset button in order to avoid different factions within the party.

"I will take into account all of the different views offered, we can then all work together with the party leadership to make the changes needed," he told reporters at the Umno general assembly today.

Zahid said he did not want to entertain differences which would later create more friction within the party.

" I of course agree that we should make drastic changes but we should do it together and immediately," he stressed.

Zahid was commenting on a viral poster that has been distributed since Wednesday on social media platforms.

The poster featured images of eight Umno leaders that were set to challenge his presidency in the upcoming party polls in May.

The poster had named Titiwangsa division chief Johari Abdul Ghani as a presidential candidate followed by Khairy Jamaluddin as a deputy president candidate.

Zahid added that he will outline the direction of the party im his policy speech tomorrow.

" I will elaborate in detail on the future and direction of the party and what we will do in preparation for the state elections." he said
