KUALA LUMPUR – Umno Youth urges the Election Commission (EC) to take immediate action against all election petitions submitted regarding bribery practice and bribing voters’ using the name of Allah SWT.

Its chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said evidence of the alleged misconduct was also clearly seen through a video recording that went viral earlier.

"The Umno Youth also congratulated the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for taking action to arrest suspects involved in the embezzlement of the RM92.5 billion stimulus package, which was approved during the emergency period. More people will be arrested and action will be taken.

"This further confirms our suspicions all along that billions of people's money may be squandered through direct negotiation projects that were approved during the emergency period of the previous Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.

"Perhaps, that is also the reason why there are parties that have been pretending to collect coins to put up flags, now they can campaign by spending lavishly to the extent that hundreds of ringgits are paid to outside voters and students," he said when delivering his policy speech at the 2022 Umno Youth General Assembly at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTCKL) here on Thursday.

Asyraf Wajdi said the ability of a newly established party to campaign lavishly was also doubtful.
