KUALA LUMPUR - After the call from the Youth wing, Puteri Umno also insists that immediate action be taken against members who attempt to destroy the party.

Puteri Umno chief Datuk Zahida Zarik Khan insisted that the party cannot tolerate traitors, whether ordinary members or those who held positions.

"Manners are important in the party, there is no place for rude people.

"Party traitors are like cancer, if not cut off, they will spread and damage the entire system – Umno.

"We have to be willing to be operated today rather than suffer at stage five, which will destroy our entire system," she said.

Zahida said this as she delivered Puteri Umno chief’s speech in conjunction with the Umno General Assembly (PAU) 2022 at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur, here, today.

In the meantime, she also urged that the establishment of an Umno academy or institute should be implemented immediately to produce more leaders who could contribute new and insightful ideas.

She said building party discipline was part of the demands that needed to be emphasised in future work.

"We need to re-examine whether Umno needed to continue to be a mass party that pursues a large number of members or is it better to be a small party but driven by diligent, intelligent and disciplined teams.

"Umno must be seen as a factory that produces leaders, but the concept of grassroots leadership needs to be reviewed.

"That's why we need to reiterate an Umno academy or institution needs to be established immediately.

“This is not a new idea, it has been talked about for a long time and many people have been held accountable, but so far it has not been implemented.

"Why? Because many people still think that Umno’s leadership only comes naturally, as a result of the surge from our old system that is getting older will definitely become outdated and not suitable for the future," she said.
