KUALA LUMPUR - All Umno representatives have unanimously accepted the party's cooperation in the unity government.

Umno Supreme Working Council (MKT) member Datuk Seri Johari Ghani said the matter was achieved during a special briefing with Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“All representatives have unanimously accepted the unity government,” he said after attending the special briefing at the World Trade Centre (WTC) today.

Earlier, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the 2022 Umno General Assembly made its own history as it was organised differently this time bringing back the briefing by the president.

He said the briefing which was held behind closed doors by Zahid was expected to involve the participation of over 3,000 representatives throughout the country.

It was understood that the briefing would provide an understanding and to inform representatives regarding Umno’s decision to join the unity government.

Johari said Zahid stressed that there shall be no betrayals in the party.

“This meant that when we contest, the parties from Umno will support other parties. Let’s not have any betrayals in our struggles,” he said.
