Tian Chua, four others booted out of PKR
SHAH ALAM - PKR has officially sacked its former vice president Tian Chua following the leader's move to contest as an independent candidate in the Batu parliamentary seat in the 15th general election (GE15).
This was confirmed by PKR Disciplinary Board Chairman Dr Tan Yee Kew when contacted by Sinar today.
She said decision to dismiss Tian Chua along with four others was made during the party's Central Leadership Council (MPP) meeting on Saturday night.
"When they contest as independent candidates or under other parties, they will automatically be fired and no longer be a member of PKR. This decision was made by the central committee," he said.
The other four members are Puah Chee Haur (Parit Buntar), Ahmad Tarmizi Mohd Ghazali (Gopeng) and M Mohganan (Taiping) and Nur Khairunisa Abdullah (Sadong).
Puah and Ahmad Tarmizi each contested under Warisan in Keranji and Chenderiang while Mohganan contested as an independent candidate in Taiping.
Nur Khairunisa contested in Sadong Jaya during the 2021 Sarawak election.
Tian Chua was PKR's Batu MP for two terms from 2008 to 2018.
