SHAH ALAM - There are still certain parties trying to profit through flood mitigation projects in this country.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he had urged his officials to renegotiate to ensure such attempts would not occur.

“I spoke to my officer, told them I was angry and asked them to renegotiate to ensure the cost is lower and to remove anyone with ill intention in the project.

“They take, take and take. This is proven and if challenged, I have proof, this is not just baseless accusations,” he said during a talk show ‘Special Narrative with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’ yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Tambun MP said that strict lessons needed to be taught to those who profit from projects which involved the interests of the people.

"If you look at the flood mitigation files, (investigation into) Menara KL (case), Jana Wibawa, in each case there is always an attempt to profit by prominent figures.

"So now I have the opportunity, God willing, to take action so that it becomes a lesson to (perpetrators) in the past and present," he said.
