KUALA LUMPUR - Police have arrested a couple suspected of being involved in an explosion at Pandan Indah, here, last Thursday.

Both suspects were arrested at a house in Kedah at midnight.

A team of officers and personnel from the Ampang Jaya District Police Department (IPD) brought both suspects to the Ampang magistrate's court to obtain a remand order under Section 117 of the Penal Code.

On Dec 29, the media reported a 28-year-old victim had died after a package placed on the bonnet of his car exploded in an incident in front of the restaurant he worked at.

Early investigations found the victim had seen a package on his Toyota Corolla Altis and held it before it exploded.

The explosion caused severe injuries on his body and arm before he was rushed to the Ampang Hospital.

The victim died at 9.45om while receiving treatment.

The police found several objects believed to be explosives used near the location of the scene and are still investigating the matter.
