"The parent and state exco have spoken, but Malaysian Youth and Sports Ministry will continue our independent investigation because this is not about one coach or two players, but a precedent we are setting for the next generation in sports.
"Fadhlina Siddiq and I are on this together" she tweeted.
The tweet has received over 40,000 views with mixed reactions from social media users in the comment section.
One user @mistersean4 commented: "You will lose vote from teachers and coaches on next general election if you force heavy punishment on the coach. Yes what he did according to snowflake gen is wrong but don't forget his contributions, achievement and sacrifice from his own pocket money to coach the team."
@Arusawan1 on the other hand echoed Yeoh's decision captioning, "Do not normalise abusive culture especially in sports.
"Such approach of “means justify the end” is not acceptable in civilised society. The abused will grow up abusive; perpetuating an endless cycle of abuse," the Twitter handle opined.
Notably, another user @fnbz57 shared his or her take on both the coach and family members of the athletes tweeting,
"The parents and teachers should be held complicit and charged for condoning physical violence."
In a video clip that has gone viral on social media, the coach is seen slapping the two girls at the 2022 Malaysia Youth U14 Volleyball Championship in Johor recently.
