KUALA LUMPUR - Umno general assembly (AGM will focus on one motion - the president's speech, said party secretary general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

This was due to shortage of time, he said during a press conference at party headquarters, here, today.

Firstly, the last year’s AGM will only be held for two days instead of the usual three, Ahmad said, adding that a several Umno leaders are now ministers and will present the motion directly to the delegates.

"The focus is on president's policy speech. Of course there will be other related issues," he said, adding that it will related to education, religion and economy.

The AGM 2022 was postponed from last month to Jan 13 to introduce two amendments to the party constitution.

The meeting was suppose to be held for three days but has been shorterned to two days. Zahid speech will be held on IJan 13 after women, youth and Puteri wings have conducted their assemblies the day before.

Deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is expected to officiate the opening ceremony of the three wings’ assemblies on Wednesday night.

The general assembly is expected to be attende by 5,523 delegates, including from the party’s three wings and 675 information chiefs from 191 divisions nationwide.
