KUALA LUMPUR - Two Umno constitution amendments will be discussed during the Umno’s general assembly (PAU) next week.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the first would be to automatically make all division information chiefs PAU delegates, including from those from the women, youth and Puteri wings.

“This is to ensure when they go back to their divisions they disseminate the speeches and points presented during PAU,” he said during a press conference at Menara Datuk Onn, here, today.

The second is on membership revocation in line with the new anti-party hopping law.

“Before this, the membership termination elements were not aligned with the anti-party hopping laws so we will include this element to terminate members who leave the party," he added.

Umno’s general assembly will be held from Jan 11 to Jan 14.

The general assembly was originally scheduled for Dec 21 to Dec 24, however, the dates coincide with the school holidays and many delegates would want to use the time to travel, Ahmad further said.

He said so far 68 media agencies registered to attend the assembly and 18 of them are international media agencies.
