SHAH ALAM - Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today, called on Malaysians to ensure continuous compliance of safety measures to fight the resurgence of Covid-19 in the country.

Dr Noor Hisham, via a tweet, he said; "Success breeds complacency and complacency breeds failure.

"Our greatest fear is when we totally let our guards down.

"Although it is not mandatory, please continue to comply to the SOP, the onus is on everyone to break the Covid-19 transmision," he said on his official Twitter account.

As at today, 1,714 new Covid-19 cases and one death were recorded, compared to 583 new cases on Dec 30.

The infection rate rising, the public are advised to follow the SOP and not to let their guard down.

Yesterday, Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said all visitors entering the country must undergo temperature checks following concerns over the rise of Covid-19 cases in China.
