Covid cases on the rise as Malaysia records 679 cases, 6 deaths

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 679 new Covid-19 cases with four imported cases in the last 24 hours.

Data from the Health Ministry's KKMNow portal recorded six deaths with one dead outside hospital facilities or brought-in-dead (BID).

The death total now stands at 36,851 cases.

There are 12,670 active Covid-19 cases with 11,991 or 94.6 per cent undergoing home quarantine while 645 patients seeking treatment from hospital and 34 placed in the intensive care unit (ICU), out of that 21 are on ventilator support.

The nation also recorded 923 recoveries, bringing the total number to 4,976,060 cases.
