Sinar Harian introduces BISA Awards
SHAH ALAM - In order to recognise and appreciate local entrepreneurs, especially small and medium enterprise (SMEs) industry players in Malaysia, Sinar Harian, for the first time, introduces the ‘Bisnes Sinar Harian Awards’ (BISA).
Sinar Karangkraf Group Marketing and Branding Chief Nik Justin Nik Mohd Ariffin said a total of ten major awards and various other award categories became Sinar Harian's choice for entrepreneurs, including micro, small and medium enterprises.
He said participation in the award is open to all registered businesses in Malaysia through various categories chosen by this newspaper to recognise creative brands, agencies, expertise, services and others.
"BISA is the first award introduced by Sinar Harian that is significant and specific to give appreciation and recognition to small micro-entrepreneurs in this country.
"Our priority is to highlight entrepreneurs who have succeeded in making a big impact on the empowerment and economic sustainability of communities in Malaysia," he told Sinar Harian.
Nik Justin explained it was Sinar Harian's responsibility as the country's most trusted and reliable newspaper to create a stage that recognised entrepreneurs in prestigious events.
"Beginning February 2023, BISA will be held as an annual event after more than 16 years of being the media of choice and main reference for Malaysians.
"We want to highlight entrepreneurs who contribute to the progress of the business ecosystem in this country to continue to thrive," he said.
He explained that what differentiates BISA from other awards was that each featured category was selected by Sinar Harian, with a special jury panel and industry players.
He added that among the awards that were contested included the categories of entrepreneurs from various sectors such as agriculture, electronics, fashion, tourism and many more.
"The selection process has begun, and the completion of the awarding gala night will be held at a hotel on Feb 23, 2023.
"Through Sinar Harian, BISA brings the main objective of supporting entrepreneurs who build businesses from the ground up to be able to contribute to the local economy, including job opportunities for the community," said Nik Justin.
