Pahang Media Club president dies
KUANTAN - Pahang Media Club (KMP) president Datuk Nik Naizi Husin passed away due to heart complications at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) at 11.40 pm on Tuesday.
Nik Naizi, 63, was admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), HTAA Cardiology Department, on Sunday after he experienced chest pain.
However, the deceased had to be put to sleep due to his increasingly critical condition after he was said to have a heart attack for the first time on Dec 2.
He was survived by his wife Datin Salma Abdul Samad, 57, four children and six grandchildren.
Nik Naizi’s remains were safely buried at Setali Islamic Cemetery, Jalan Haji Ahmad Kuantan at 7.19am.
His youngest son Nik Ahmad Amirul Husain Nik Naizi, 29, described Nik Naizi as a strict but very forgiving man.
“He was strict, but at times he was funny and had always been optimistic individual.
“He was also very forgiving and always make sure that he was the first one to say sorry if any there was any problems with others,” he said when met at the cemetery.
Nik Ahmad Amirul also thanked those who had attended his father’s final rites.
Meanwhile, Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail also expressed his sympathy over Nik Naizi’s death.
He had served as a reporter for The Star since April 1, 1982, and had taken compulsory retirement in September 2019.
After that, Nik Naizi continued his contract as a reporter at the same newspaper until March 2020.
Yesterday, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah visited Nik Naizi at the CCU of HTAA.
