Wild life ranger stabbed by elephant's tusks to death

PENAMPANG - A wild life ranger dies after being pierced by an elephant’s tusks in an elephant enclosure at the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, here on Sunday.
In the incident at about 8.30am, the victim, Joe Fred Lansou, 49, suffered injuries to the abdomen.
Sabah Wildlife Department (JHL) director Augustine Tuuga said the incident happened while the victim was conducting his routine at the elephant enclosure.
"The incident happened too quickly and the deceased was injured in the abdomen as a result of being pierced by the tusks,” he said when contacted by Sinar Harian on Monday.
The victim was the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park's Elephant Unit Head.
