Flood: Absent Terengganu MB shows up in Kemaman after NZ trip
NORHASPIDA YATIMKUALA TERENGGANU - Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, who was previously absence during second flood wave in the state shows up during a visit to a temporary flood relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Binjai, Kemaman, today.
This was shared through a live broadcast on his official Facebook at 12.15pm.
A source said the live recording was made from the Kemaman district, but the media had yet to receive any official statements from the state government including the Menteri Besar's Office regarding his recent disappearance during flood.
Samsuri was last seen visiting the flood victims of several temporary evacuation centres (PPS) throughout Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Kuala Nerus district on Dec 9.
He had previously been viral on social media after being claimed not to be at the state when the public faced the second wave of floods.
The claim was also made by Umno Supreme Working Council Member Lokman Noor Adam through a live video on his social media on Tuesday.
There were screenshots of a plane ticket which alleged that he went to Auckland, New Zealand, which raised multiple reactions as it was shared and made viral on social media.
Terengganu Disaster Committee deputy chairman Hanafiah Mat when contacted on Wednesday stated he had no knowledge of Samsuri’s whereabouts and confirmed that the he had gone to New Zealand based on the photo of the flight ticket shared by netizens on social media.
Hanafiah said the Terengganu Menteri Besar's absence was not an issue because the flood preparations were made and arranged systematically.
