Terengganu floods showing signs of recovery

KUALA TERENGGANU - Terrengganu's flood victims decreased from 36,231 today (Thursday) compared to 38,574 on Wednesday, showing positive signs of recovery.

Some 21 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) were closed in stages, leaving 256 active PPS.

The State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Secretariat stated as of 8am, the total number of flood victims recorded in Kemaman was 7,364 followed by Besut (6,672), Setiu (2,375), Hulu Terengganu (5,854) and Marang (922).

Meanwhile, flood victims in Dungun had risen to 6,186 compared to 5,158 previously while Kuala Nerus recorded 3,895 compared to 3,822 on the previous day.

The statement said the weather forecast showed positive weather conditions throughout Terengganu with moderate rainfall and only some heavy downpours in several areas.
