Stop sharing video clip of electrocuted Kelantanese siblings - MCMC
KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has implored the public to stop spreading the video clip of siblings who were electrocuted in their flooded home in Kelantan today.
The call, read its statement issued today, was made so as to respect the privacy and feelings of the victims surviving family members adding that it will get in touch with social media service providers to help curb the spread.
"The commission will also take proactive measures by taking up the matter to the attention of service-providing platforms like Meta, Twitter and TikTok to curb efforts to viral the incident.
"The MCMC would also like to advise social media users to lodge a report about the sensitive content of the incident because such contents are not suitable for public viewing," wrote MCMC.
On top of that, the commission also pointed out that ceasing the act of viralling the tragedy will allow authorities to carry out a thorough investigation on the accident.
