KUALA LUMPUR: Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul warned MPs in the house to not be a ' Batu Ronson' ( instigator).

Johari who was elected as the speaker just this morning, tried his best to take control of a chaotic house as MP's debated the motion of confidence for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership.

It began when Mohd Sany Hamzah (PH-Hulu Langat) called Datuk Awang Hashim (PN-Pendang) a “beruk” (ape). Datuk Awang then took offence and started to call to the Speaker to chastise Mohd Sany.

Johari subsequently told Mohd Sany to sit down and as he slammed the gavel twice.

“Sit down! If you all aren’t respecting me, then who else? Sit down. Stop being a ‘Batu Ronson',” said Johari.

“If I hear anyone using unparliamentarian words, I will eject them from the House.

“ I get to decide if the word used is unparlimentary, let this be a warning specifically to the newly-elected MPs learn to be patient first, don’t be an instigator,” Johari added.
