KUALA LUMPUR - Several Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders are seen gathering outside the Persatuan Alumni Universiti Malaya (PAUM) Clubhouse today.

It is believed to be in connection with the PN Committee Meeting which discussed the coalition’s position on the motion of confidence towards Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tomorrow.

It is understood that the meeting, which started at 4.30pm in the PAUM Hall, was also attended by grassroots leaders including PN MPs.

The first Dewan Rakyat session under the Unity Government would take place on Monday with the main agenda among others to witness the presentation of a motion of confidence for the validity of Anwar’s appointment as the 10th Prime Minister.

The vote of confidence motion aims to prove that Anwar, who took the oath of office on November 24, has the support of members of Parliament to lead the new government after the results of the 15th General Election (GE15) which saw no party or political coalition received a simple majority.

On Sunday, PN Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that the PN Committee Meeting would be held on Monday to discuss the coalition’s position on the motion of confidence in the Prime Minister.

Muhyiddin said although he was sure that the majority of MPs from PN would not support the motion, their decision whether to support or not would not be forced.
