PAGOH - Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi's statement questioning the hundreds of millions of ringgit channelled to National Recovery Council (MPN), is frivolous.

Dismissing the allegation, former MPN Chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he had already resigned as MPN chairman before the 15th general election (GE15).

MPN is an advisory body only and not an executive. It has no funding provision either, he added.

"Even when I was leading, I carried out 'pro bono' work, did not take a single cent of salary. This MPN is an advisory body, it is not an executive, there is no provision.

"Check how many hundreds of millions are there.mWhere is the evidence that shows that I had received millions?

"I receive a single sen. The fact is that the MPN is an advisory body," he said after a Perikatan Nasional thanksgiving event at his Pagoh parliamentary constituency today.

Puad Zarkashi had previously questioned where the alleged allocation of hundreds of millions of ringgit for MPN went.

He claimed that he was informed that Muhyiddin had received the special allocation from the prime minister at the time, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Puad Zarkashi also questioned whether the allocation was spent for the Bersatu party only or for other matters besides also asking Muhyiddin to clarify the details of MPN fund expenditure.
