LARUT - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is not stopping any of their leaders or members from joining Muafakat Nasional (MN).

Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said this was due to MN being a non-governmental organisation (NGO) and not a political party.

He said only by joining another political party would their membership to the party be terminated.

"It's not wrong, it's not an offence (to join MN) because it would not cause them to become a member of another party. They are just with a group that has already outlined their agenda.

" Their struggle is for the interests of the country, so we always welcome something good for the country," he told reporters after presenting donations to the flood victims at Kampung Pantai Besar Ulu Community Hall, Ijok, here, on Friday.

Hamzah said MN was only an NGO that aims to unite all Malaysian groups in the country.

MN president Tan Sri Annuar Musa on Thursday announced 30 members of the MN Supreme Council consisting of individuals with professional backgrounds, political parties, NGOs, educators and celebrities.

Among the members were Bersatu Supreme Leadership Council Member Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.

Other members included former Tanjong Karang MP Tan Sri Noh Omar, former Ampang MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin, Associate Professor Datuk Dr Shamrahayu Abd Aziz while celebrities who were members included Datuk Jamal Abdillah and Datuk Eizlan Yusof.
