Dr Mahathir quits as Pejuang chairman

SHAH ALAM - Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad resigns as Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) chairman, a source says.
The source however insisted that the former Prime Minister would remain as Gerakan Tanah Air chairman.
"Dr Mahathir resigned as Pejuang chairman, (but will) remain as GTA chairman," the source told Sinar Harian on Friday.
He added that an official announcement would be made by Dr Mahathir soon.
It is learnt that the second Pejuang Annual General Meeting (AGM) would be held on January 14.
In the 15th General Election (GE15) for the Langkawi parliament, Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah obtained a majority of 13,518 votes defeating Armishah Siraj (BN), Zabidi Yahya (PH), Dr Mahathir and Abd Kadir Sainudin (Independent).
