Batang Kali landslide: Death toll rises to 16

HULU SELANGOR – A total of five more bodies were found in the landslide incident at a campsite near Father’s Organic Farm here today.

Hulu Selangor police chief Superintendent Suffian Abdullah said this brought the cumulative number of fatalities to 16.

“Based on our record, there are 17 more victims being searched.

“We are using the incubator and excavator system in the search and rescue (SAR) mission,” he said during a press conference.

Suffian said as of now, the strength of the SAR team involved 15 agencies and from the police’s side comprised of the Federal Reserve Unit and the General Operations Force.
