Four Thai policemen suffer minor injuries after explosive thrown by suspect

BANGKOK, Dec 14 (Bernama) -- Four Thai policemen suffered minor injuries after a homemade explosive device thrown by a wanted suspect went-off in southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat today.

The incident at 12.30 noon (local time), four policemen from Muang District Police Station went to a house to arrest the suspect on a case related to drugs.

Provincial police chief, Pol Maj Gen Somchai Suetortrakul said the suspect tried to avoid arrest and hurled an explosive device at the policemen.

Though the policemen suffered minor injuries on their legs and arms, the acted fast to safe themselves from harm and nab the suspect.

All four are receiving treatment at a hospital and are reported in stable condition.
