Negeri Sembilan tahfiz, pondok schools to have new Islamic syllabus next year
SEREMBAN - Tahfiz and pondok schools in Negeri Sembilan will undergo a change in Islamic syllabus starting next year, says Association of Tahfiz and Pondok Institutions (Pinta).
Its chairman Mohd Ali Abdul Kadir said it is in line with the educational policies drawn up by the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEANIS).
"In general, the current syllabus are handled respective centres due to their different curriculum but it is in our attention to align it," said Ali.
He was at Pinta Convocation Ceremony which was held for the first time. It saw some 325 graduates aged 15 years and above completing their studiescertificates related to tahfiz al-Quran.
In addition, the Negeri Sembilan Tahfiz Award was awarded to the Principal of Maahad Tahfiz Fathur Rahman Gadong Kota, Abdullah Zamsari Mohammad.
Meanwhile the Negeri Sembilan Pondok Tokoh Award was given to Tampin Pndok Chairman Sheikh Abd Raof Nurin Al-Bahanji.
Ali is confident that the new syllabus will empower tahfiz and pondok schools to ensure they do not fall behind ineducation.
"We are also aiming for 500 students to successfully complete their studies within the next five years," he said.
