Continuous heavy rain forecasted from Dec 17 to 21

SHAH ALAM - The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecasted thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds to occur in the western coastal areas of Peninsular, western part of Sabah and northern Sarawak.

The department predicted the heavy rain to occur between afternoon and early morning in the next few days.

Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) director-general Muhammad Helmi Abdullah, in a statement, informed that monsoon rains are expected to pass through the country from Dec 17, based weather analysis models.

"This situation may cause an increase in humidity which has the potential to cause continuous rain in the states on the east coast of the peninsula and east of Sabah during the said period (Dec 17 to 21)

"MetMalaysia is monitoring the situation and will issue alert-level continuous rain warning if necessary.
