Listerine Total Care Sensitive, a new formulated mouthwash with desensitising agent

SHAH ALAM - Listerine introduces its newly formulated mouthwash Listerine Total Care Sensitive to provide all-day protection.

It contains potassium nitrate, an active, desensitising agent, targeting tooth sensitivity.

The Listerine Total Care Sensitive is also formulated with fluoride combined with antibacterial essential oils with a mild soothing taste for fresher breath and kills germs that cause bad breath, plaque and gum problems.

Johnson & Johnson Malaysia and Singapore Country Director consumer health Stephen Tiu said this was the first time the brand introduced potassium nitrate combined with fluoride to its mouthwash.

He said the ingredient was new and unique to Listerine Total Care Sensitive, different from other Listerine mouthwash lines.

“We are pleased to offer the multi-action formula that protects and provides fast sensitive relief to Malaysians.

“With Listerine Total Care Sensitive, we aim to provide a more robust oral protection against dentine sensitivity to consumers' existing oral hygiene routine,” he said.

“At Listerine, we are constantly innovating and evolving to meet the oral hygiene needs of our consumers,” he said.

According to the 2010 National Oral Health Survey of Adults, 88.9 per cent of adults in Malaysia have dental caries and 94 per cent suffered from gum problems.

With the proper oral cleansing with active desensitising ingredients and fluorides found in mouthwash like Listerine Total Care Sensitive, it could decrease overall risk of oral disease and tooth sensitivity.

Consumers are advised to use the product for 30 seconds and two times daily after brushing.

Listerine Total Care Sensitive is now available in 250 millilitre (ml) bottles for RM14.20 and 750ml for RM30.80 at major pharmacies, supermarkets and hypermarkets nationwide.
