SHAH ALAM - The number of flood victims has increased to 1,436 nationwide as of 7am, on Sunday compared to 922 at 8pm, Saturday.

According to the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma), a total of 400 families in Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan and Perak were placed in 19 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) that were opened in the four states.

In Pahang, seven centres were opened in four districts to shelter a total of 517 flood victims which included 155 families.

Meanwhile, Terengganu recorded a total of 585 victims from 150 families placed in 10 centres in four districts.

At the same time, in Kelantan, 84 families with a total of 280 people were placed in one PPS located in a district.

In Perak, 54 victims from 11 families were placed in a PPS in a district.

On Saturday, it was reported that 922 victims who were moved were from 268 families from the same state.
