Bachok MP to focus on religious awareness, tourism, rural entrepreneurship
SHAH ALAM - Bachok MP Syahir Sulaiman has listed five-point agenda to develop his constituency in the Kelantan state.
They are increasing religious awareness, pushing for academic excellence, promoting youth and rural entrepreneurship and boosting the production of fisheries and agricultural.
"First thing first. It should be on religious awareness which is the main key to get blessings and success for the people of Bachok.
"Next, academic excellence where we will make sure that no one drops out in their studies," he told Sinar Daily.
He would also be focusing on rural and youth entrepreneurship as there is a great potential in the field of entrepreneurship at rural Bachok, especially within the younger generation.
Syahir also said that he will look into food security as Bachok is a fertile agricultural area.
As for the tourism and handicraft, Syahir plans to promote several hidden gems such as Pantai Irama and Pantai Melawi.
When asked on measures to overcome water supply and flood issues in Kelantan, Syahir urged the new government to address them immediately.
He also expressed his utmost dissapointment on the recent annoucement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to put on hold flood mitigation project.
It is a long overdue issue, he added.
