SHAH ALAM - Pas Bachok MP Shahir Sulaiman has denied allegations that his party had received RM90 million from Umno, further urging the prime minister to come up with evidence.

He said in 2019 general elections, Pakatan Harapan coalition had accused them of receiving the money.

"Until today there is no proof on the allegations. Its does not make sense as Pas have been contesting similar seats with Umno till today," he said to Sinar Daily.

Shahir also said there were no allegations about political funding of Pas and Perikatan Nasional before the 15th general election (GE15).

"Prior to GE15, there were no allegations about the funding of Pas and PN,. Now the burden of prove is on those who made the allegations.

"The prime minister should take responsibilty to come up with prove, let the authority to take a due action on this remark," he said.

On Aug 6, 2016, online portal Sarawak Report accused Pas of receiving RM90 million as part of an inducement for the party to support Umno and BN in the general election.

Pas had denied the allegation and Hadi initiated legal action against Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown, in London, on April 21, 2017.

In 2019, Anwar had said he has details on the RM90 million Umno paid Pas before the 14th general election and he knows who received the money.
