GE15: 'May Allah open the voters’ hearts’ - Idris Ahmad, Asyraf
SHAH ALAM - Leaders of political parties take advantage of the voting day of the 15th General Election (GE15) for the Padang Serai Parliament and the Tioman State Assembly today to post on social media sites asking voters to choose their respective party coalition.
Pas Vice President Datuk Idris Ahmad was no exception when he uploaded a status in the form of a prayer for voters in both areas to choose Perikatan Nasional (PN).
"Oh Allah, may you open the heart of the voters in Padang Serai (parliamentary seat) and Tioman (state assembly) to choose PN. Caring, clean and stable,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Umno Youth Leader Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki also uploaded the same status in a post on the social media site, but for Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH).
"Oh Allah, may you open the heart of the voters in Padang Serai (parliamentary seat) and Tioman (state assembly) to choose PH,” he posted.
Previously, the media reported that GE15 nomination day for both areas was postponed following the death of PH candidate in Padang Serai Parliament M Karupaiya, and PN candidate in the Tioman state assembly Md Yunus Ramli, before polling day on Nov 19.
Voting at the two constituencies would involve more than 160,000 registered voters, namely 132,955 voters in Padang Serai Parliament while 28,108 in Tioman State Assembly.
