Three former MCKK students make up Anwar's Cabinet

SHAH ALAM - Three former students of Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) are ministers in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's unity government.

They are Anwar who holds finance portfolio, Rafizi Ramli (economy) and Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz (International Trade and Industry).

Anwar studeid at MCKK from 1960 to 1966. Rafizi on the other hand in 1990 to 1994.

Previously, Sinar Harian reported that 15 former MCKK students in Perak contested as candidates in the 15th general election (GE15).

Environment, Natural Resources and Clima Change minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad is also from MCKK.

The Association of Old Malay College Students (MCOBA) on Twitter added that the former students consisted of six candidates from Pakatan Harapan (PH), four Barisan Nasional (BN), three Perikatan Nasional (PN) and one candidate for each Pas and Pejuang.

Among other former MCCK students who contested for the Parliamentary seat were Amanah secretary-general Datuk Hatta Ramli; Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah; former senior defence minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and former foreign minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah.
