KUALA LUMPUR - A total of 1,200 local and overseas participants local flood the World #QuranConvention (WQC) 3.0 titled 'Coping With Challenges Surah Al-Sajdah' organised by Yayasan Warisan Ummah Ikhlas (WUIF) through their event manager, TickTalk TV, which takes place at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry’s (MITI) Dewan Perdana here on Saturday.

WUIF Chief Executive Officer Marhaini Yusoff said the international standard convention focuses on four challenges namely financial, career, family and social or spiritual by providing solutions based on the Quran and Sunnah.

She said the last major programme under the #QuranHour campaign this year was to highlight Surah Al-Sajdah in providing solutions to face the various challenges of life today.

Marhaini said surah Al-Sajdah invited mankind to prostrate to Allah SWT to achieve success and victory.

"The formula of prostration is able to get rid of human pride with prayer, dedication and patience.

“So this is not just a convention, but it carries the mission of Quranising the Nation and a Sincere Ummah in 1500H.

"Continuous efforts in inviting people to interact with the Quran through reading, understanding and practicing are aimed at building a frame of mind and transforming one's potential based on the values of the Quran," she said when met at the convention.

The one-day programme became an enlightening platform because the resolutions were detailed by speakers who are well-known for their respective expertise in the study of the Qur'an.

Speakers and reciters came from six countries namely Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Palestine, Egypt and the United States.

Among the speakers are Global Shariah Advisor Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar, Nexchange Trade Group Berhad Managing Director Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir; Bayyinah Institute for Arabic & Qur'anic Studies Founder Nouman Ali Khan; preacher from Bangladesh, Shaykh Mizanur Rahman Azhari; Huffaz Nusantara figure Dr Ahsin Sakho Muhammad Asyrofuddin and WUIF Chief Research Officer Fazrul Ismail.

Whereas the line of reciters consists of Qari from My #QuranTime, Tirmizi Amir; Imam from Palestine, Sheikh Rami As-Sousi; The 61st International Al-Quran Recitation Champion, Abdul Khair Jalil and the Egyptian Imam, Shaikh Abdullah Sobhi Marei.

The convention was hosted by Indonesian celebrity Erik Syam Pratama and International Young Daie from Malaysia, Hifdzi Zaim Zamri, while overseas participants came from Bangladesh, India, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Iran and Turkey.

Marhaini asserted the prediction that the country would face economic problems and natural disasters in the next year concerned to bring about various problems for oneself, family and people.

She added it would include financial, career, family and social or spiritual challenges that needed to be addressed with 'divine intervention' (Allah’s intervention).

"Therefore, this convention is expected to help the community to take the formula from Allah SWT which is the Quran as a solution in facing the various challenges. We need inner strength to face the various challenges of life.

"The WUIF hopes that this WQC can be continued in a series of tours around the world. So far, Iran, India, Singapore and Brunei are interested in being the joint organisers of this programme," she said.

Marhaini said that due to the positive response to the programme this time, her team would extend the convention to two days next year, which will be held on Dec 2 and 3, 2023.

WQC 3.0 is sponsored by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), in collaboration with synergistic partners, MITI, Puspanita MITI Branch, Surau Ar-Rahman MITI, Karangkraf Group, Rumah Ngaji, Cordoba Academy, International Islamic University of Malaysia.

For the record, WQC 1.0 themed Surah Al-Kahfi under the Federal Territories Department of Religion (Jawi) was inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in 2019.

WQC 2.0 which brought Surah Al-Mulk took place last year and was held online during the Movement Control Order (MCO) season to control the spread of Covid-19.
