Hamzah ready to guide Saifuddin in his ministerial role
NOOR AINON MOHAMED YUSOFLARUT - Former home minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin is ready to share tips and guidance with the newly appointed Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail for the role to help understand the functions of the ministry.
Hamzah said the matter would be done for the country’s benefit, aside from the fact that Saifuddin was a good friend of his.
“Saifuddin is a close acquaintance, I knew him during the Umno Youth period, not just recently.
“Whatever we do is for the national interest.
“If it’s something beneficial for the country, I can guide him on the matters to fight for,” he said at the Majlis Kesyukuran of Larut Parliament at the Tapak Bazar Ramadan in Selama here on Saturday.
Hamzah, who is also the Larut MP, commented on media reports on the intention of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary-general to get tips or guidance from him.
Saifuddin had said he respected Hamzah as the former home minister besides having a good relationship with him for decades.
In fact, when he was appointed as the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs minister in 2018, he also learned a lot from Hamzah who led the ministry during the Barisan Nasional government.
