‘PM asks me to be part of unity cabinet, but I want to focus on my role as MP’, Gobind says

DAMANSARA – Damansara MP Gobind Singh Deo today reveals that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar asks him to be a part of the Pakatan Harapan unity Ccbinet, but he chose to focus on his role as MP instead.

Gobind Singh said since the list of ministers was announced by Anwar yesterday, many people have asked why he was not included as part of the cabinet which comprised of 28 individuals including the prime minister.

“Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did ask me to be part of his cabinet.

“However, after considering the matter, I informed him that I was unable to do so and that I would focus on my role as an MP and assist the government in all ways that I can moving ahead,” he said in a statement.

Gobind also thanked Anwar for asking him to be a part of the Cabinet.

“I again express my full confidence in his leadership and believe that he will be able to successfully take Malaysia to greater heights,” he said.

Gobind, who represented Pakatan Harapan had easily defeated Lim Si Ching, a candidate for Perikatan Nasional (PN), to win the Damansara parliamentary seat with 142,875 votes in the last 15th General Election.
