SHAH ALAM — Argentina fans discuss the team’s chances in the ongoing Qatar World Cup 2022 with both forecasting that the team has a good chance of winning.

Footy Forum guest and passionate Argentina fan Sivan John was optimistic that the football team was capable of emerging victorious in the World Cup.

Despite the early defeat by Saudi Arabia, Sivan believed that he had every reason to believe this team could go on to win it all.

“When you look at everything the team has done together in the past two years, it is an extraordinary journey,” he said.

He said it could be a big challenge for the team, considering other strong teams like France, England, Spain and Brazil could easily take away their chance at victory but nothing is impossible.

He went on to share that only halfway into the team’s match with Mexico did he finally see the players play as their regular selves again and that the team seemed slightly disjointed at the start.

He added that he believed Argentina could achieve victory because the team had the new leadership of Lionel Messi, who was considered a statesman in the team.

Despite this, former FA of Malaysia Assisstant General Secretary and also a fellow Argentina fan Abang Zulkarnain Abang Abdurahman was less optimistic about the team’s chance.

When asked if he thought Argentina could win this year’s World Cup, he did not give a straightforward answer or indicated his optimism towards the chances.

“Not England,” he said, just as the Footy Forum wrapped up last night at 11pm.
