Two states hit by floods, 402 victims in Flood Evacuation Centers

In a statement put out at 4pm today, NADMA said that 402 evacuees have been placed in four temporary evacuation centres (PPS) which is a slight increase from yesterday where floods in the Sepang, Hulu Selangor and Ampang Jaya districts required two PPS to be opened.
“The two PPS opened yesterday in Selangor was to accommodate 90 victims from 24 households,” said NADMA.
The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) also reported that as of 4.30pm today, Sungai Junjung in Penang has been reported to be at a dangerous water levels while two others, Sungai Semenyih and Sungai Bernam in Selangor are at warning levels.
A flood warning for the states of Terengganu and Kelantan was also put out by DID at 3pm today, involving Sungai Setiu, Sungai Dungan, Sungai Kemaman, Sungai Paka, Sungai Besut and Sungai Golok.
NADMA cautions that these floods could happen earlier or later than expected so all residents should be cautious and follow the instructions of authorities and flood manangement agencies involved.
MET Malaysia has put out a Significant Weather Forecast for Dec 1 to 7 which showed that eastern wind is expected to concentrate in east Sabah, the east coast and north of Semenanjung until Dec 5.
A Continuous Rain Warning has also been put out by involving east Sabah, the east coast and North of Semenanjung from 1 to 4 December.
