SHAH ALAM - The viral poster making its rounds on social media regarding a pay raise for Royal Malaysian Police's (PDRM) officers is fake.

In Facebook post today, The Prime Minister's Department (JPM) shared an image of the poster and confirmed that it was fake.

"The information shared on the poster is false, the public is asked not to spread or share any information that they are unsure of or is fake," the facebook post stated.

The viral image has an image of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the announcement that police officers will receive a pay raise in white text.

The poster is titled 'PM - PDRM pay raise will be announced as soon as possible' and is attributed to the Prime Minister.

The statement said the public should refer to official JPM social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok for legitimate news.
