SHAH ALAM - Too much pressure and weather conditions are some of the reasons that could affect a football's team performance, sports editor Haresh Deol said.

He was referring to the Japan vs Costa Rica World Cup match yesterday which saw Costa Rica winning the match.

However, based on his observation, Haresh said that both teams did not perform well in the first half of match due to a few factors, mainly the weather condition and being overly pressured.

"Costa Rica and Japan did not perform well in the first half match. Probably they played during lunch hour.

"Another reason for their poor performance is because both teams (Japan and Costa Rica) are being overly-pressured to win the match," he said during Sinar Daily's Footy Forum programme.

Instead of performing well, both teams started to play messy, where the whole game was very concentrated as they only focused in playing on the center of the field.

Haresh also said that Costa Rica should not have been a part of the World Cup as their performance was poor.

"Costa rica shouldn't be a part of the World Cup, they are the most disappointing team. I can literally count their shots on target.

"Costa Rica only scored one goal in the match, it is basically a one-attempt goal," he reasoned.
