Wan Rosdy appointed as Pahang MB
KUANTAN - Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah has consented to the appointment of Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail as Menteri Besar.
The Regent of Pahang also consented to the formation of a state government from Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Comptroller of the Royal Household for the Sultan of Pahang Datuk Ahmad Khirrizal Ab Rahman said the presentation of the appointment letter and swearing in ceremony of the Menteri Besar will be held at the Balairung Seri Istana Abu Bakar in Pekan, tomorrow.
"The appointment of Wan Wan Rosdy is based on the powers provided to the Ruler in accordance with Part II, Article 3 (1) of the Pahang Constitution.
Prior to that, Ahmad Khirrizal said Tengku Hassanal was pleased to receive and listen to the proposals, motions and wishes of the political parties involved following the results of the 15th General Election (GE15) of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (DUN).
Pahang has 42 state seats and out of the total, Perikatan Nasional (PN) has 17 seats, BN has 16 and PH has only eight seats.
Wan Rosdy contested in the Jelai state seat and won with a majority of 6,983 votes.
He retained the Jelai State Assembly seat since 2004 and before entering politics, he served as a senior officer at Padiberas Nasional Berhad (Bernas).
