KUALA LUMPUR - A man with the Twitter handle Zulfadzli@bumilangit, who was arrested on Thursday for allegedly uploading a video containing racial elements on social media, has been released on police bail.

Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) secretary Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said the man was released after the remand order against him ended today.

"Next, PDRM, through the Classified Crime Investigation Unit, will refer the investigation papers to the Attorney-General’s Chambers in accordance with the provisions of Article 145(3) of the Federal Constitution after the investigation is completed,” she said in a statement.

The 39-year-old man was detained at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters to assist in the investigation under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for allegedly uploading a video on the TikTok application that could incite tension among the races in the country. - BERNAMA
