Amanah will be in Cabinet lineup, says party leader

SHAH ALAM - Amanah's Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof says his party will be in the Cabinet line up and will allow Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to determine the relevant portfolio.

Mujahid, the party vice president further said they will be proposing qualified names to be in the Cabinet.

"Certainly (there are representatives) because we are part of the government," he told Sinar Harian on Friday.

Mujahid added the PH manifesto states the size of the Cabinet wold remain small and the prime minister should implement the promise.

"That is indeed our promise, as in the manifesto not to have a large Cabinet but one that is effective.

"Anwar has made it clear that it is on the advice of the Agong, ensuring that the Cabinet that is set up represents all races, regions and is inclusive in looking at the issues that need to be hastened," he said.

Amanah deputy president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said the party is leaving the matter on Cabinet to Anwar to decide.

"This Cabinet is formed by the prime minister, that's his right.

"For me, it is entirely up to Anwar," he said.
