SHAH ALAM - Selangor state government will hike monthly allowances of village heads and Indian community leaders from RM1,200 to RM1,500 monthly.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said an additional RM1.843 million will be allocated for the increase, starting January next year.

He added the increase is to ensure a better quality of service to rural folks, carried out efficiently and with integrity.

"It is also to help the state government improve the well-being of the people and the state," he said during his speech in the Budget 2023 Presentation during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) here today.
