GEORGE TOWN - The Penang state legislative assembly sitting which began on Nov 4, has been adjourned sine die.

After sitting for one day on Nov 4, the state assembly was then adjourned to give way to the 15th General Election (GE15), and resumed on Nov 21.

During the five-day session, 67 oral questions, 553 written questions, one motion and one bill were tabled.

The 2023 Supply Bill and Development Expenditure Estimates, which was tabled by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, was debated and approved.

On the last day of the sitting, a motion was also moved by Chow and seconded by Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman to establish a special committee on federal-state relations to investigate and report on all matters relating to federal-state operational and administrative work.

He said Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P Ramasamy would be the chairman of the committee while Datuk Muhamad Yusoff Mohd Noor (UMNO-Sg Dua), Gooi Hsiao-Leung (PKR-Bukit Tengah), Satees a/l Muniandy (DAP-Bagan Dalam), Lee Khai Loon (PKR-Machang Bubuk), Muhammad Faiz Fadzil (Amanah-Permatang Pasir), Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq (Bersatu-Bertam), Mohd Yusni Mat Piah (PAS -Penaga), and Teh Lai Heng (DAP-Komtar) were appointed as members.
