SHAH ALAM – The Speaker of the Tunisian Parliament, Rached Gnannouchi, has congratulated Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over the coalition's victory in Malaysia's 15th General Election (GE15).

The congratulatory message from Gnannouchi who is also the party president of Gnannouchi was shared by Anwar in tweet today.

“We were very pleased with Pakatan Harapan’s deserving victory. We consider it a culmination of your efforts, clear vision and commitment to modernising Malaysia,” read said the Tunisian.

Following this, he extends an invitation for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to deepen ties and strengthen relations between their two parties and the Malaysia-Tunisia bilateral ties.

In last Saturday's GE15, PH successfully secured 82 parliamentary seats, making it the party with the highest number of parliamentary seats won.

However, to form the government, a party coalition needs to gain a simple majority of 112 parliamentary seats, more than half of the total 222 parliamentary seats.

This landed Malaysia in a political deadlock as none have enough numbers to form government.
